How do I restart my Typesense Cloud cluster?

It is very rare to have a situation where a restart of the nodes in your cluster would help address an underlying issue. So only follow the steps below if you are explicitly instructed by the Typesense Cloud team to do so.

  1. Click on "clusters" in the top navigation.
  2. Click on the cluster you want to restart from the list of clusters.
  3. Click on Cluster Configuration on the left pane of the Cluster Dashboard.
  4. Click on the "Modify" button.
  5. [Optional] Pick a time when you want the restart to happen.
  6. Without changing any of the settings, scroll down and click on "Schedule Change".

This will initiate a rolling restart of each of the node(s) in your cluster.

If you have High Availability enabled, it will be a zero downtime restart, as we'll restart only one node at a time and ensure that it's back up before restarting the next node.

If you have High Availability disabled, you will encounter a downtime that is proportional to the size of your dataset. It can take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours for large datasets.
